Since 2020, we have launched, funded and grown over 20+ locally-led Foundations, driving vital funding and support to the most effective local groups where it creates the greatest impact: at the grassroots. Supporting the Establishment of Wildlife Corridors to Protect the Critically Endangered Sri Lankan Leopard via Lanka Environment Fund Sri Lanka’s leopard population has fallen to an estimated 750–1,000. This project by the Wilderness & Wildlife Conservation Trust is creating forest corridors to protect leopards and their habitat, with 52.5 Km of corridors to be designated as protected and more than 100 leopards identified so far. Tackling Plastic Pollution with Depeche Mode and Hublot (Global Portfolio) Conservation Collective’s brand partnership with iconic rock band Depeche Mode and Swiss luxury watch brand Hublot is on a mission to tackle plastic pollution at the grassroots, empowering communities working towards a cleaner future. Since June 2023, this bespoke portfolio has supported 23 projects across 13 different countries via three approaches: Plastic-Free, Waste Management and Clean Up projects. From Kenya to the UK, all the way to the Caribbean: over 450,000 plastic bottles have been averted from entering local ecosystems, over 70,000 kgs of solid waste has been recycled and 803 business engaged to reduce and address plastic usage. Supporting Regenerative Farming in the UK via Devon Environment Foundation In 2020, a £16,000 grant launched a regenerative farming training programme at the Apricot Centre in Totnes—vital in a county where 75% of the land is farmland. CC helped secure a four-year $650,000 grant to scale this work. So far, the Apricot Centre has trained 140 people, with over 40% now working in regenerative farming. Photo credit: Apricot Project.
